Merry Christmas!

From Our Family to Yours...

Hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday!

The picture of Drew is of him at his Holiday concert at school. And of course, I had to get Drew and Will matching PJ's for Christmas!

Weekend in LA

We found incredible prices on tickets to LA, so on a spur of the moment decision we booked them and headed out to CA for the first time. Gary, Drew, Will, Gary Sr, Ethan and I all went out to see Nicole (Gary's sister) graduate from the LAPD. It was a great adventure! The kids were fantastic! We saw the graduation (CONGRATULATIONS NICOLE!), road around LA at 80 mph and even made it to Hollywood Blvd! Drew just stared at all the police officers - he loved it and then Drew was amazed to see Batman, Spiderman and Darthvader walking the streets of Hollywood - you should have seen his face:) I think he was in a bit of shock at first! Actually we all were, coming from small town Maine to the big city! Drew even got to sit in the cockpit of the airplane in Chicago. If you look closely at the top pic, you will see Drew sitting in the middle of the winterwonderland holding his treasured Batman and Superman that he bought on Hollywood Blvd. The trip was lots of fun and will leave us with some great memories! In other news little Will is 3 months old today and still going strong! He is meeting all his developmental milestones and is just an amazing baby! He loves his milk, sleeping, sucking his fists, grabbing for toys, reading and his family. He also loves giving his big brother smiles! :)

Drew

We had our first parent teacher conference meeting regarding Drew in November. It is still hard to believe he is in Kindergarten! The meeting went very well and Drew's teacher had great things to say! WAY TO GO DREW!!!! Drew is well on his way to reading, he knows lots of site words and is starting to sound out words by himself. He has started reading every night to Will after we read them a book. We have read to Drew every night since he was a baby and it really shows because Drew loves books. Although right now I will be honest - he might love Transformers and Super heroes a bit more, it must be the Kindergartner in him!

He takes French class 2 times a week at school and is saying some French words that we don't even know! He has also made some new friends, but still says his best buddy is Cam, they have been best buds since they were about 2 years old! Drew also has started adding numbers together! He is such a little smarty and a great little boy, I hope it all continues for him and us and that he will be a fantastic role model for his little brother! Speaking of, Drew changed Will's diaper for the first time today - he insisted on wearing gloves but it all went well!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your day! We did not travel far and had Thanksgiving at Drew and Will's Grampa Bill's and Debi's house. We are thankful we did not travel far because so far Will dislikes riding in the car! At times it has taken us 3 hours to drive from Portland when it should have taken 1.5 hours and then try a 1 hour trip back from Rockland, normally a 25 minute trip...the reason for the lengthy trips??? Will has this ear piercing scream that continues until we stop the car (unless of course he falls asleep). We tried everything when we made our stops to soothe him - nursing, changing the diaper, swinging the car seat - nothing seemed to work. So when the crying starts we drive for a bit, stop, start up again and on and on. I usually end up squashed in the back between Drew and Will while I try to comfort Will... Any suggestions? I have not heard of a baby that does not sleep when he rides! I am sure this won't last forever?!?!?!

Anyway, there were 12 of us at our Thanksgiving Dinner and we had a great time! We were missing a lot of people today - you were all in our thoughts :) Drew and Will's Great Grammie Black and Aunt Sam traveled to NM and are still there - we will be thinking of them as they travel back this Tuesday! Drew said he is thankful for his family - how sweet! And Will...I think he is just thankful for everything - he is an absolute doll!

Will is 2 months old!

Will is now 2 months old and doing "terrific" his pediatrician said. Of course we already knew that though :) He is in the 75th % for both height and weight. He weighs 12 lbs 11 oz and is 23 1/2 inches tall. Looking back at Drew's baby book @ 2 months...he is 1 lb and 1 inch under Drew. But, he looks like Drew's twin in most of the baby pictures! It will be interesting to see if it stays that way or if Will will get his own look! Will also has his 2 bottom teeth coming in! Drew held Will's hand today while Will got 5 immunizations, Drew is so sweet with him. He loves to read to him and he plays so gentle with him. Will seems to really lite up when Drew engages with him. Will continues to be such an easy going baby - still enjoys sleeping @ the right times, eating, cuddling, more playtime and loves to watch us! Yes, he does cry and gets upset - but mostly is just a happy lovable babe! Well both kiddos are sleeping so I am going to go to bed myself - goodnight!

Finally...some video!!!

Hey there! We have been having fun with our new little camera! Here are Drew and Will's latest...soooooo much fun and soooooo cute :)

happy halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! Drew was very excited about trick or treating! He also enjoyed passing out candy @ the house. This was his first year as a super hero. The past 5 Halloween's he has been a pea in the pod, a lion, bob the builder, an excavator and a doctor. I think Kindergarten has influenced him this year, all the little 5 year olds wanted to be a super hero!! But, he did look cute...:) Will of course did not know what was going on and as you can see from the picture, he really did not get to excited about his costume! But, of course we brought him along! He was a little pea n the pod just like Drew's first Halloween! He came out trick or treating with us in his stroller, but it was a bit to chilly for him at 45 degrees so dad brought him back shortly after. Of course Drew seemed to have the most fun, but Halloween can usually bring out the kid in everyone! It was a fun week! Enjoy the pictures!

All Smiles!

Will's Great Aunt Abby came over yesterday to take some pictures, she got some nice shots of Will having a great time!

Will had his 1-month check up today. Yes, a little late - but this was the only time they could fit little Will in! Will is gaining weight quickly, he weighs 11 1/2 pounds and is 22 1/4 inches long! His pediatrician said he is doing excellent, meeting all his developmental milestones and then some!

Yeah Will!

Welcome!

Hi all! Welcome to Drew and Will's site! I heard about this from a friend and thought it would be a great way to share our family with our friends and family that are near and far! Drew and Will have now been together for a little over a month - and what fun it has been!

Drew has been in Kindergarten since early September and is doing fantastic - the little comedian in him is coming out more and more and we will hopefully have lots of funny stories to tell you! Will is almost 6 weeks old, adorable as ever and amazingly he is sleeping 6-8 hours at night - which we are all enjoying!

Drew's latest news is sounding out lots of letters and writing words. He loves to do it and maybe he will be reading soon?! He loves his time in Kindergarten, time with his dad and being with his little friends. Lately Drew and Gary have been racing their new RC racing car and doing lots of work around the house! Drew also loves to read books, play superheroes, ride his bike, he loves anything to do with drawing or painting and kissing his baby brother Will! He is such a great kid, but of course knows how to push our buttons!

At 6 weeks Will is doing fabulous! His pediatrician called him Prince William and said he is wonderful! Will enjoys being held, eating, some tummy time, stroller rides, and smiling! Will has started giving us lots and lots of toothless grins which just melts our heart and makes our day! He is also making lots of little squeals and has even started cooing. He also just found his little hands which he thinks is just the best! Oh yea did I mention he is sleeping up to 8 hours at night? Last night was his longest at 8 to 4am. Wow! The first night he slept 6 hours I actually ended up waking him up to make sure he was ok!:) Of course things were fine! Will goes for a check up on Monday, we are guessing that he weighs 11-12 pounds!

Will has been such a blessing to us and everyone in our family. This past year has been incredibly difficult with losing my brother. He was a wonderful brother and friend and an awesome uncle to Drew. It is sad to hear Drew say he does not remember him and that Will will never know him. We have videos and try to talk about him a lot. We are trying to move forward and keeping BJ's memories alive by sharing lots of fun stories about BJ with Drew and Will...

I am excited about Drew and Will's site! It will be such a fun way to share pictures and stories! Please check back often for updates, hope you are all well - take care! -Love Shasta, Gary , Drew & Will
